The International Monetary Fund believes cryptocurrencies do not yet pose a risk to the global financial system. However, it’s concerned about the growing market caps of stablecoins-and how they are backed. U.S. fintech giant Stripe is hiring a new blockchain team to enable crypto payments for its users. The $100 billion company is returning to the crypto sector three years after it pulled back from offering Bitcoin support due its slow transaction times and rising fees. Actress Reese Witherspoon tweeted on Monday that she bought her first NFTs. Rapper Snoop Dogg, an avid NFT collector, offered advice on one of the “most influential women” to follow. Actress Reese Witherspoon is dipping her toe into the crypto world, starting with a purchase of (ETH). Today R3 announced that it acquired the intellectual property and team behind Ivno, the tokenization platform. The technology enables the issuance of stablecoins but also allows different bank coins or settlement tokens to be interchangeable. Ivno’s platform uses R3’s enterprise blockchain Corda and smart contracts to tokenize a variety of assets ranging from cash and collateral to artwork. Created in 2011, Blockchain.com announced Thursday, Oct. 6, that it has opened its custodial and brokerage product availability to the Peace Garden State, aiming to bring cryptocurrency access and employment to the Midwest. In recent weeks, Blockchain.com launched in Florida, Oklahoma and Iowa in addition to roll-outs in Alaska, Delaware, Illinois, Oregon, New Hampshire and New Mexico within the last year.
